CSC We’ve created a unique residency system that is launched this Fall at two regional high schools. It has been our experience that Shakespeare residencies tend to either be professional productions performed by a professional company that lack lasting impact on students or productions that feature casts made up entirely of student actors-- great for those student actors but maybe not the kind of “Shakespeare that leaves a positive impact on the audience. That’s why we’ve combined the best of both ideas: a performance by a professional company that includes student actors in supporting roles. As a result, we build connections to the school while exposing students to a production of Shakespeare experience that can potentially transform students’ perception and understanding of Shakespeare.
