Henry IV, Part One
By William Shakespeare
February 15 – March 30, 2019

Falstaff:  Banish plump Jack, and banish all the world.
Prince: I do; I will.

After he takes the throne from Richard II, Henry IV’s reign is bedeviled by rebellion, political intrigue, and the antics of his heir. Young Prince Hal forsakes the burdens of royalty to carouse with rogues and fools led by his mentor and friend, the riotous Jack Falstaff. Hal’s maturity and mettle soon will be tested. To secure his own future, he must face his cousin, Henry Hotspur, at the pivotal Battle at Shrewsbury.

Henry IV, Part Two
By William Shakespeare
March 15 – April 7, 2019

“Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown.”

As King Henry IV nears death, warring among the nobility continues: The defeated rebels regroup, aligned now with Northumberland against the crown. Prince Hal’s friend, the aging tavern-brawler Falstaff, is up to his unscrupulous tricks and scene-stealing humor. Hal avoids responsibility for a time but cannot put off the inevitable. He will become the monarch.
