CSC Updates Masking Policy

As of Monday, February 6, 2023, Chesapeake Shakespeare Company will no longer require that patrons wear masks for performances at our Downtown Baltimore theatre.

We extend gratitude and thanks to all who entered our building and complied with the previous mask policy. Over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, we always kept in mind the health and safety of our patrons, artists, staff, and students. Through rigorous testing, careful caution, and your loyal support (not to mention our spiffy new bipolar ionization HVAC system), we were able to keep our doors open and continue to offer great theatre to our community.

We strongly encourage all patrons to follow the guidance of their healthcare providers. Some of you may still prefer to wear a mask and we respect that decision. If desired, you can also request to be seated in our social-distance-friendly section, located on the second mezzanine of our theatre.

President Biden has announced plans to end the public health emergency just as the professional actors' union has relaxed its requirements for intimate theatres like ours.  As we enter this next phase of recovery from a global pandemic, we continue to monitor conditions and recommendations from local and federal health authorities officials and will update our policies as circumstances require. Current health and safety information can be found on our website at chesapeakeshakespeare.com/plan-your-visit/know-before-you-go/.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. The friendliest box office in town is here to help! We are open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4pm. Call (410) 244-8570 or email boxoffice@chesapeakeshakespeare.com.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support and look forward to seeing your smiles as we share great theatre at Chesapeake Shakespeare Company with you this spring!
Best regards,

Your friends at Chesapeake Shakespeare Company
